This is a small, personal blog. Here is plainly what happens to your information when you read it or leave a comment.

Reading

Reading the blog doesn’t require an account. We don’t sell anything about your visit to anyone. The one thing we do share is with Google, only while we are paying Google to send readers here — it’s explained under “Advertising” below.

Leaving a comment

Your name is shown publicly next to your comment. Your email address is optional, never shown on the blog, and used only if Dra. Amy needs to reply to you privately. Comments are held for review before they appear.

We keep a small amount of technical information (like a hashed, non-reversible version of your IP address) to keep the comment form from being used for spam. It is never shown publicly and is deleted after a limited time.

Advertising

There are no ads on this blog, and there won’t be.

Sometimes we pay Google to show a link to the blog in search results or on other websites. To know whether that is working, the pages you read load a small piece of Google’s software called the Google Ads tag. It tells Google which pages were visited and whether a visitor left a comment. It does not send Google your name, your email address, anything you wrote, or anything you searched for here.

Google may set a cookie in your browser so it can tell that a visit came from one of those links, and so it can show the blog’s link to you again later on other sites. Pages about health are marked so that Google does not use them to build an advertising profile of you.

If you are reading from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google’s tag is told not to set any cookies at all.

You can switch this off. Tap the button below and Google’s tag will not load on this browser again. The choice is kept in this browser only, so you would need to tap it again on another phone or computer, or if you open the blog from a different app.
